Gulfstream IV-SP Business Jet Interior Wrap

Gulfstream IV-SP business jet in a hangar for maintenance and interior renovation

Randy was hired to wrap the interior furnishings in this Gulfstream IV-SP business jet in September of 2026. When all was said and done, this project used 1.5 rolls of 3M Di-Noc Fine Wood FW-1801 woodgrain architectural film. Check out the photos and videos below to see what a difference architectural films can make.

This project had a few more bumps in the road than normal - starting with procuring the material. Release of the material out of the distribution warehouse was delayed for an unknown reason, and then shipping was also delayed, right on top of a holiday weekend. This meant Randy arrived to the project 5 days earlier than the film did. He took advantage of this and did all of the prep work for all the pieces - sanding, filling, and priming - right at the beginning.

The next bump was also encountered before wrapping really begun - a shortage of material. The customer who hired us wanted to get started as quickly as possible after first contacting us (this was a contributing factor to Randy getting there before the material), and had limited video/photo documentation of all the surfaces getting wrapped. Randy did the best he could in estimating the amount needed without seeing the jet in person, but it turned out the project needed a bit more material than he originally estimated.

Randy let the customer know early on about the material shortage, but also his limited availability, because he was also in the works of planning an intercontinental project (stay tuned for that project blog). The customer opted to hire an extra set of local wrapping-hands to help on the easier pieces so Randy could focus on the more complex parts of the project during his limited time on-site. Those local installers wrapped up the project once additional material arrived, after Randy had already left.

All that leaves left is the actual wrapping process. As you can see from the earlier videos, space in the jet was tight, lighting wasn’t the best, and a lot of the interior pieces required physical alteration to the millwork - so Randy wasn’t able to film the entire project on this one. Still, he got some real-time videos of wrapping the more complex pieces, which you can see below.

Why Choose 3M Di-Noc?

The choice to use 3M Di-Noc architectural films is an easy one for many private jet owners. This material offers a wide variety of finishes, from wood grains to metallic textures, and can be applied to almost any surface. The films are durable and lightweight, and making them ideal for aircraft interiors.

The Process: Quick, Efficient, and Stunning

Randy meticulously documents every step of the project, capturing the entire process through photos and videos. These visuals highlight the speed and efficiency with which the interior was transformed. From start to finish, the project was completed in a matter of days, a fraction of the time it would take for a traditional interior refit.

Before and After: The blog is rich with before-and-after pictures that illustrate the dramatic change. Cabinets that once appeared worn and outdated are now sleek and modern. The walls, previously dull, now exude a fresh, contemporary vibe. Randy's expert touch ensures that every detail is flawlessly executed, leaving no room for imperfection.

The Wrapping Technique: Randy shares his technique in the accompanying videos, offering a step-by-step guide on how he applies the 3M Di-Noc film to various surfaces within the jet. He starts with the most challenging areas, such as curved surfaces, to ensure a perfect fit. His methodical approach guarantees that the film adheres smoothly, without bubbles or imperfections, showcasing the true quality of the material.

Time and Cost Efficiency

One of the most significant advantages of using 3M Di-Noc films is the time and cost efficiency. Randy charges by the day, and because the application process is so quick, the overall cost remains highly competitive compared to traditional refurbishment methods. This speed does not come at the expense of quality; instead, it allows for a high-end finish that stands the test of time.
